Permissions defines access-level defaults and per-person overrides. Access to the Users section requires a verified owner, administrator, or manager role. Changing permissions needs authority over the affected team; the owner level remains fully enabled in this editor.
What you’ll see
Read the enforcement notice first
The page says workspace areas and Pipeline stages affect what people see when they next load the app. It also says other switches are being enforced as they roll out. Do not treat every visible switch as a verified security boundary across every API and workflow.
- Open Settings → Users → Permissions.
- Review the five access levels and Show job title mapping to see the default mappings.
- Expand the relevant module under What each access level can do.
- Inspect the current defaults before editing a cell.
Save the intended scope
Clicking a matrix cell changes the draft allowance for that access level. Save changes saves the role matrix. Resetting defaults or discarding edits has a broader scope than changing one person, so read the control before using it.
Per-person overrides starts by selecting a teammate. Default, Allow, and Block define whether a setting inherits or overrides the role. The person-specific save is separate from the role-matrix save, and self-access editing is restricted.
A person's access level and fine-grained overrides save through separate operations. If a save partly fails, inspect the resulting state rather than assuming everything rolled back.
Verify and recover
After an authorized save, reload the settings and ask the affected person to reload their app. Confirm the specific workspace area or Pipeline stage behavior in an approved test. A success notice confirms the settings operation, not complete enforcement of every permission.
If the permission settings cannot load, use Try again. Avoid overwriting an uncertain configuration with apparent defaults. Report the specific setting and visible error without including another user's private details.
