Registrar Accounts controls provider accounts and the workspace's purchase preferences. You need authorization to manage both the selected account and any purchasing defaults. The page includes account scopes with different reach; a platform-shared option is not appropriate for an ordinary workspace change without separate authority.
What you’ll see
Review purchase routing
- Open Settings → Domains → Registrar Accounts.
- Read Purchase Preferences and whether they are using platform defaults.
- Inspect Default Registrar, Default Account, Auto-select cheapest vendor, and Show vendor comparison before purchase.
- Compare the displayed Active Purchase Account with the account you intend to use. Saving preferences does not itself purchase a domain.
Use the preferences section's Save only for an approved routing change. Selecting the cheapest vendor does not approve its renewal price, terms, or registration commitment.
Manage an account
The account form includes Account Type, Provider, Account Label, Max Domains, Weight, Account Scope, default/active settings, and Notes. Create adds an account record; Update edits one. Weight and capacity affect account selection and should match the intended operating arrangement.
Configure API Credentials is separate from creating the record. Save Credentials submits the supplied secret fields. Do not assume that a named account has usable credentials, and do not copy tokens, secrets, or provider identifiers into documentation.
Confirm changes and handle errors
After an authorized save, reload the accounts and purchase preferences. Verify the intended workspace scope, default selection, and active state. An account entry or stored credential is not proof that a registrar purchase will succeed.
Delete and Remove Keys require confirmation. Cancellation sends no removal request; a refusal keeps the confirmation open with a reason. Read that reason instead of repeatedly submitting.
Obtain your workspace billing owner's approval for the exact purchase and registration period. Approval for an account connection does not authorize a domain purchase.
