Compare two versions of a message, page, or offer using a stated hypothesis and decision rule. A configured draft is different from a running experiment, and insufficient evidence is a valid result.
What you’ll see
Before you start
You need experiment-management access and verified references for the campaign and the assets being compared. The current form uses identifiers and version fields; obtain them from the owning records rather than guessing. Plan how outcomes and spend will be recorded before starting.
Review and edit
- Open Settings → Marketing → Experiments. Choose a starter test under Start from a proven test, then read its hypothesis and primary metric.
- Review Campaign ID, Audience, Owner user ID, dates, Timezone, and Budget. Do not paste private identifiers into public help examples.
- Link each version to the appropriate page, email template, script, or source references and its version. Review the displayed allocation and Decision rule.
- Use Create experiment draft to save the configuration. Start is a separate action that changes the experiment to running; do not start a live test during a settings tour.
- For an existing authorized experiment, inspect the evidence message and variant outcomes. Record review saves the review decision. Save spend records the supplied spend; set Complete coverage only if the data covers the whole test.
Check the result
A draft should retain the intended two versions and comparison rule. A later review should explain both the outcome and missing evidence. Not available cost or return figures must not be rewritten as zero or interpreted as a winning variant.
If something goes wrong
Troubleshooting
Missing attribution may indicate incorrect asset or version bindings. An incomplete spend record cannot support a complete return calculation. Stop changes a running experiment's status; do not assume it independently pauses every linked campaign or communication workflow. Inspect those workflows before making broader claims.
