Choose how Speed Dial handles parallel calls and what happens when more than one person answers. Review these settings before a calling session; changing preferences is not a reason to start a test call.

What you’ll see

The Dialer page, where you turn on Parallel Dial and choose Lines Per Rep, the number of leads dialed at once.

Before you start

Actual calling requires an eligible number, authorized destinations, ready representative audio, and approved recipients. Owners and administrators manage the overflow behavior. The Demo Account's lack of an active number means live parallel dialing is unverified.

Review the controls

  1. Open Settings → Phone → Dialer. The page has three collapsed sections, and one opens at a time. Each closed header shows its current setting: On or Off for Parallel Dial, the line count (for example x3, or Using 2 of 3 when fewer lines are in use) for Lines Per Rep, and Currently: with the saved choice for When more than one person answers.
  2. Open Parallel Dial and read its readiness message. The feature calls several leads and connects the first eligible answer once the representative's audio bridge is ready.
  3. Inspect the Parallel Dial switch and Lines Per Rep. These controls apply through the calling preferences immediately; there is no separate page-wide Save for them. The desired line count may exceed the current effective limit, and safety throttling can reduce the actual batch size.
  4. Open When more than one person answers. The choices are Standard message (default), Custom message, and Silent hang-up. Read the explanation before selecting a behavior that affects additional answerers.
  5. For an authorized overflow change, edit Your message when using Custom message, then select that section's Save. Discard restores the stored choice.
  6. Reopen the page and compare the saved overflow configuration with the preference controls. Do not assume a generic success notification proves a provider-side call succeeded.

Check the result and recover

Success is the intended preference and saved overflow message visible on reopening. Audio readiness, multi-answer handling, and recipient experience need a separate authorized call test.

If a conflict says your unsaved edits were kept, compare them with Currently, which identifies the saved version, before saving again. Use Try again for a failed settings load. A reduced effective line count is not automatically an error; inspect the service limit and readiness information instead of repeatedly increasing the requested count.
