Documents shows files associated with the current lead. Open the intended record in the shared drawer and choose Documents. You need access to the record and authorization to view or upload the file's contents.
What you’ll see
Find and inspect a file
- Use Search files and the file-type filter to narrow the list.
- Sort by Name, Type, Size, or Date and check the sort direction.
- Open the intended file in the shared document viewer.
- Confirm the file belongs to this lead before using it in another workflow.
The lead's documents are distinct from the workspace-wide document library. A file can be available for later email attachment without having been sent to anyone.
Understand uploads and metadata edits
Add Document opens the shared lead upload modal. It accepts supported documents, images, and video through file selection or drag-and-drop; it also accepts pasted screenshots. Selecting, dropping, or pasting a file starts upload processing. Do not use a real file merely to demonstrate the selector.
Watch the upload activity status, including Saved to Documents or a failed result with Retry. Removing a successfully uploaded item from the upload widget does not remove the saved document. Closing the modal is not an undo operation.
The file's Edit action opens metadata editing for its display name and document type. Save changes persists those metadata changes. This is separate from replacing the file's actual content.
Verify and recover
After an authorized upload or metadata edit, reopen Documents and inspect the intended entry and preview. A notification is not proof that the correct file or lead association was selected.
If an upload is uncertain, check the list before retrying. If metadata types cannot load, preserve the existing type rather than guessing a substitute. Keep private files and access-bearing links out of shared support reports.
