The add-lead form creates a record and requests basic research. You need authorization to add the lead and start that processing. The submission button is Save & Research Lead; this is not a documented save-only workflow.
What you’ll see
Prepare the record
- Open the add-lead form and choose Manual Entry or Smart Paste.
- For Manual Entry, review Company & Contact, Additional Info, and the remaining social/reference fields. Supply accurate company and contact information and follow the form's required-field validation.
- For Smart Paste, paste only material you are authorized to process. Review the Detected company, contact, website, and LinkedIn fields; optional company and phone hints can clarify the input.
- Read any Duplicate Alert before submitting. Confirm whether the intended person or company already has a record.
Source, notes, and reference links provide context for later research. Do not enter invented contact details merely to satisfy a field or create a test in a customer workspace.
Understand Save & Research
Submission persists the lead first. When the response contains its canonical record identity, the page makes it openable immediately and starts research admission in the background. A slow research request should not prevent access to a successfully saved lead.
The success notice distinguishes a saved lead from research queued or research unable to start. Saving and research therefore have separate outcomes. Research can use account resources; approval to inspect the form is not approval to submit it.
Verify and recover
After an authorized submission, use the success screen's lead-opening action and verify the record's identity and entered details. Follow research progress separately in Research Hub. A queued research receipt does not establish completed research, contact verification, or qualification.
If research fails after the lead saved, inspect the existing record rather than submitting the form again. If the save itself is uncertain, search the lead lists before creating another copy.
