The Document Viewer presents a file opened from an existing document workflow. It is not a document-upload form or a searchable library. You need permission to view the selected document and a valid source link supplied by the application.
What you’ll see
Open and inspect a file
- Open the document through its library or lead-record entry. The viewer receives the document name, source URL, type, size and modified information from that context; opening the bare route is not a complete document request.
- Check the displayed filename and file-type information before reading. Confirm it is the intended document rather than another attachment with a similar name.
- Use the available preview. Images display directly; video and audio use playback controls; supported document types use an embedded preview.
- If the preview is unavailable but the source URL is valid, Download the file instead is offered. Download and Original are separate controls for retrieving or opening the source file. Use them only when authorized to access and store that content.
- Use Report Bug for a viewer problem while describing the file type and visible error. Avoid exposing private document URLs or content in a public report.
Confirm and recover
No document to display means there is no usable source for this viewer state. Preview not available can mean the file is accessible but unsupported for inline display. Return to the originating record and reopen the intended file before assuming it was deleted. Downloading is not evidence that the application updated document metadata or saved a new version.
The viewer’s address can contain document information and an access-bearing source URL. Do not paste it into public help materials, screenshots or chat messages.
